Me? I'm a retired, feckless, three-times-failed, retired entrepreneur who nowadays likes to think of himself as a dilettante writer/poet, amateur philosopher and bon vivant.
At the top and bottom of the page you'll find links to some fiction and poetry. But first, why not pull up a chair and exercise your mind on a perennial aesthetic debate?

Creative Writers, Poets,
Artists, and Philosophers
(but hell, everyone's welcome)!
Here’s your chance to help a writer in a quandary – please engage mind and have electronic pen ready!
Why are most novice and aspiring writers prematurely obsessed with publication?
Come to that, why do we feel the need to publish at all?
More precisely, what has publication to do with art?
Are the two mutually inclusive?
If so, why so?
If not, why not?
Do you have a view? If so, here's your chance to share it! Read on...
What I mean is, do aspiring writers nurture unjustified expectations in regard to early publication? If one accepts creative writing purely as an art form, in purely aesthetic terms, are writers entitled to be read or heard simply in virtue of any stumbling attempt to use language creatively -- irrespective of what is produced? Can the writing never be an end in itself?
It's my impression that many of us do feel this; why else do we continually submit our first tentative efforts for public consumption to receive nothing more than apathy, dismay, or a mauling? What's the hurry? Does the writer differ from other amateur artists, in that he/she seems unable to be content with the joy of simply creating something original? Why do so many of us assume our first efforts worthy of universal attention? Is it pure egotism? Put another way, having mastered a few scales and the rudiments of harmony, do aspiring musicians expect to offer their nascent, but fledgling, virtuosity for public recognition? Not to labour the point, but does one who plans his first garden shed expect to be acclaimed an architect, eligible to enter public competitions, perhaps enter for the rebuilding of another St. Paul's? So, must it always be shared?
Whoops!
(Sorry, did I wake you)?
Seriously, you may have a sound knowledge of aesthetics, you may even be an academic, or you may just have happened on a philosophy that helps writers like myself obtain satisfaction from creative writing purely for its own sake (should that prove necessary)! If so, I'm sure we'll all be delighted to hear from you, so do please write.
(You'll find an e-mail address at the bottom of this page).
In the meantime, if you've time to spare, feel free to browse the links below. You could look in on my novel (in progress), or one or two short stories, or a few poems...
Happy browsing!
